WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU ?

The HSE First Aid Regulations (1981) require you to provide adequate & appropriate equipment, facilities & personnel to enable first aid to be given to your employees if they are injured or become ill at work.

A person will not be suitable for this unless they have undergone such training and has such qualifications, as the HSE may approve or recognise.

In order to help you decide which course you need the following is a guide from the HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP). Please ring us if you are in any doubt.

Lower Risk

Shops and Offices etc.

Employees Cover
Up to 50 At least One Appointed Person
50 - 100 At least One First Aider
100 plus One additional First Aider for every 100 employees

Medium Risk

Light Engineering and Warehousing etc.

Employees Cover
Up to 20 At least One Appointed Person
20 - 100 At least One First Aider for every 50 employees or part thereof.
100 plus One additional First Aider for every 100 employees

High Risk

Construction workers or anyone working with dangerous tools

Employees Cover
Up to 4 At least One Appointed Person
5 - 50 At least One First Aider
50 plus One additional First Aider for every 50 employees
